Dog's Face Blown Out By Firecracker - A Sad Story
73Year of the Dragon, 2012 had finally set in. Everyone seems to be happy and gay during the holiday season. Merry making and different sorts of activities have always been the highlight every time such blissful season will come, and a few loud bangs echoed to most countries wherein firecrackers are some part of the tradition. However, I would like to tell a short story about some reality.
If you happened to be faint-hearted person, I advise you not to read on further, most especially if you are a pet lover. What all I’m about to reveal is a tragic story of an unfortunate dog.
Lately, I just opened my facebook account and one of my friends shared this picture. I was curious and did so open it. It was a picture of a dog (although I’m not certain if it is a tamed or street dog), whose face was destroyed. The caption underneath the picture is what really crushed my heart. The owner of the photo doesn’t seem to give full details as to what exactly happened.
She said, quoted and uncloaked, “Some kids placed strong firecracker in the mouth of this animal and made sure he (the dog) could not open it. The world is like this. To these kids it must have been a macabre fun for a few minutes and then they continued with their life like nothing happened. To this animal, his life ended during those minutes, with a pain so deep that is better to forget his life.”
Believe me, a sting of pang truly pierced my heart while I'm in due process of reading. I don’t know if I should cry, or be angry, or simply hide the post, so that I can’t be enrage with some mixed emotions I couldn’t define. As we all know, dogs are truly loyal. They have always been a great pal and would literally die just to save their owner. ONE THING WE SHOULD NOT OVERLOOK.
What the heck is wrong with the world?!
Mistreatment to animals is way too far in this present state. The compassion on them seems to be so oblivion to everybody, and people don’t care. Kids are no more taught with valuable lessons. I wonder if this world would ever change, because I hardly doubt that.
I just hope this hub will mean something to you and taught every reader a valuable lesson. You may not be a pet aficionado, but still these animals are innocent. They are not created with no purpose. Just like human, they have feelings, and they have the same right to live decently and happily in this planet. I'm sharing this, hoping that if someone near you tries to do these kind of things, you will at least try to tell them that this is really harsh. Will you?

People doing stuff like that to animal, shoud be treated the same way. I just wish there was a way to let people feel what that animal was feeling
This reminded me of what happened to one of our dogs. He didn't die of firecrackers, but he died due to someone's foolish action of throwing hot (as in boiling) water at her. It was really painful at the first look, you can sense the pain she's going through. She died two months ago, we tried treating her, hoping she's going to live, but alas, she's "sleeping" now. This world is such a cruel place for these innocent animals. Your story made me feel depressed of animals' fate in humans.
I hope the people who done this have a guilty conscience for life, I don't get why anybody would do this to an animal, and even if they claim accident - there should be better laws and safety when releasing these things.
I totally agree to MissDooLittle.. I hope that the local government will strongly pushed some laws for the sake of these animals.
Good lord, that poor dog. This may sound callous but I hope they put it to sleep so it wouldn't have to endure such pain like that. I had an outside cat once that loved everybody and one day some kids decided to have fun with her. They picked her up and threw her in the air about 3 stories high. She landed on the grass thankfully and no major injuries but had I caught those kids...well the only color I saw was red and for them it was a lucky day to get away. I hope scum who do stuff like this get what they deserve in the end.
If it was a firecracker or some other explosive device how come no damage to the lower jaw or tongue and the eyes?

Well Grim, it may have been a not-too-strong firecracker, hence it's doesn't affect the lower jaw or tongue or eyes. But come on, look at the face of that poor thing..
that's terrible! i hope those kids get caught or this dog is gonna haunt them for the rest of their lives because what they've done. i hope the owner feels peace that their dog is in a better place now.

This made me cry a bunch.I want the parents of these kids for the next ten years to be forced to pay animal shelters of their area monthly a sum in remembering this poor German Shepherd. And I want these kids to be put in correction for 3yrs of respected duty,and to also pay a sum of money towards any shelter that strives to help animals that have no voice in their help to them. Wicked kids..and parents that need to step it up and see the light,take love and charge of their children/teens..just because the world seem to be wacked out doesn't mean all must act like sheep..be a shepherd..
this in fact is purly wrong without a doubt... and i, of all people have compassion, emotions, and feeling.. and indeed are too a animal lover.. but the funny thing is.. i am only 17.. and the things i see everyday dont compare to this.. but with the new up coming generations.. they are far to be worse.. trust me.. ive witnessed people and the things they do and how they respond.. and society in fact is losing its grip, on the things that classify us all as "humans"..
Why would someone do that to a poor animal? I am holding my dog rite now thinking why do that to an animal....
How do they know that drunk teenagers did this? Then someone must know who they are or watched them do this? Unbelievable! This poor dog his life would have been better if it had ended that day

Dear Lord......please give me the address of those responsible for doing this.....I promise not to go over board, I'll only stick one fire cracker up their ass, (even though they deserve more) and yes a M80 counts as a fire cracker!!!
This poor dog should be put to sleep - it is only fair to the pup and the people around. It is a terrible thing that humans have the capacity to do such horrific things. Unfortunately, these children will likely go on to do horrible things to other people as well. I have grave sympathy for their existence!

That is ......... very wrong and evil. I hope whoever did that cruel sin to the poor dog goes to jail, or some kind of legal action is taken. I'm with you Lynn.. Better yet we should feed these low lifes to the wolves!
Please never abuse an animal! If you know someone, or saw something! Do something about it! Before this kind of evil happens again!
who ever did this to this poor innocent dog, need hunting down and then same doing to them.. Their a disgrace to our country, The youths who did this need to be sent to jail and tortured for this.,im a pet lover and im disgusted by seeing this horrific picture.

I can't stop crying, my entire body turned cold, i think i went into shock when i just saw this photo. i feel sick. life is so sad, its sad for adults and for the ones that cannot protect themselves such as children and animals. This will forever stay in my heart and mind. I would kill those kids slow and painfully with nothing but torture for the revenge of the innocent life they maliciously took all for curiosity. I do believe they will get this twofold and I will wish it upon them repetitively throughout my life - I've got a good 50-60 years to go.

hwen i saw this picture it brought tears to my eyes. they sould put firecracers in those boys mouth and light it just to understand how painful that is for the poor dog.

I believe this happened in Bosnia, but this is the last straw for me personally, and I'm out to do something more about it, even if it is merely getting a bill passed in my hometown... I'm praying others follow suit... because I refuse to live in a future where this occurs without punishment.

The kids who did this were just KIDS! They did not know what was going to happen. I saw some kids stick a firecracker up a dog's rectum once just to see what would happen. It was a small firecracker, so the damage was minimal but again, they were just KIDS and kids do stupid things! The people who are more responsible for the suffering of this dog than the kids are those that are keeping it alive. Put the thing out of its misery and don't make it suffer any longer! Oh, I forgot, if they put the mutt to sleep, they wouldn't be able to solicit donations (that will go into someone's pocket) for vet care, etc.
Blame the parents--I'd love to meet them.

@RoastPuppy you watched those kids put a firecracker up its butt and didn't do anything, wow I'm 11 and i know better than that to just stand there and put it pain and since you just watched it and didn't do anything means that you were a part of hurting it. And these people weren't just kids they were probably teenagers and just because they are minors doesn't mean that they can do something and not pay the consequence they should go to jail for animal abuse. Just think about if you were the dog, having a LITERAL explosion in your mouth, the pain its in. And kids don't always do stupid things and those kids knew what was going to happen they just wanted to be funny and for the kids that did this to the poor dog, you sicken me.
I have read this and as I'm readying it my heart is so hurt and crying for this poor dog. Why do kids haft to be so mean to these animal? They don't ask for much just only to be loved and give them a home not like this.Just a warning to anykids if I ever see you hurting any animal mark my work I will get you. This isn't a laughing matter and it's not a joke to play on these animal.I hope the law will take care of these kids and put them in jail and let the inmate see this pic. I'm sure they will take care of these kids for once. Let justic be done to these kids that did this to the dog.They have the right just like all of us for justic to be done. I love dogs! My neibor has 2 German Shepherds, Cleo and Duke. I mean, they are so cute! Why do something so cruel
and rude and harsh to a inocent German Shepherd?! Please, if you find those kids, don't kill or hurt them. Bring them
to their parents, make the parents ground them and scold
